Hephaestus-196778
Scoring system from 1967-78 in our timeline
By Akitaldo
The 1967-78 saw the terrible accident of Niki Lauda in 1976, where his car burst in flames. So in honour of Niki, I named this universe after the Greek god of fire: Hephaestus. He was also the God of craftsmanship and metallurgy. And, although Niki didn't make the cars, he was a very smart driver who understood the mechanics behind his vehicles.
Points: 9-6-4-3-2-1, but they get rid of two race results: a driver's worse race result in each half of the season. If there's an odd number of races, then the first half of the season has one more race than the second half.
Points between parentheses are total points if they kept every result in the end. If you want to see what happens when they count every point, you can take a look at Euthenia-196190 where they have the same points system and they keep every race result.
